Adult Learning in Action
US Army Education - learning worldwide
We hear daily reports about wars in various parts of the world, but
we rarely hear of the support systems in place, for example, assisting
military personnel to pursue studies no matter where they are in this
world. Dr Grey Edwards, recently appointed national president of the
American Association for Adult and Continuing Education has over 30
years experience in working with military personnel and their families
to continue study, often from far distant locations.

Neighbours - Part 1
We all want to live in a quiet neighbourhood with nice neighbours who
cause us no problems. However it doesn’t always work out that
way. Maybe its loud music, or car doors slamming while we’re try
to sleep, or noisy machinery at all hours. So what can be done? Greg
Waller, Director of Development and Environmental Services with the
City of Salisbury has some good advice about some legal issues around
neighbours. Seven Minute Legal is produced with assistance from the
Law Foundation of SA.

Neighbours - Part 2
In this second of two programs, the focus is on those neighbours who
leave their disused washing machines and fridges in their front yard,
or who start a small business which then causes parking problems and
other inconveniences for the neighbours. Greg Waller, Director of Development
and Environmental Services with the City of Salisbury has some good
advice about some legal issues around neighbours. Seven Minute Legal
is produced with assistance from the Law Foundation of SA.

Supporting Men
The Christmas and New Year period can be a time of high expectations,
but also of family stress. A project in Elizabeth in SA provides support
to fathers, and especially at this time of year, to men separated and
possibly socially isolated because of family breakdown. Tony Ryan speaks
to Michael Evans, a community support worker for men, and also to Hayden
and Mick about men and social isolation.
