Digital Photography for people with acquired brain injuries
For some years now, Eastwood Community Centre in Adelaide has run a very successful Digital Photography program for people with Acquired Brain Injuries. In this week’s program, Tony Ryan visits the centre and finds out about this award-winning project, and sees the 2008 Calendar that has just been released by this enterprising and enthusiastic group.

What is the profile of new teachers entering the profession today? As World Teachers’ Day this year falls on Friday 26 October, Learning Works invited Wendy Teasdale Smith, Principal of Aberfoyle Park High School in Adelaide, to reflect on recent research on the changing profile of new teachers entering our schools nowadays – it’s a rather different profile to the time when most new teachers began teaching in their early twenties or even earlier.

The Lighthouse Career Education Project
The Career Education Lighthouse Schools Project is an Australian Government initiative to recognise good practice and encourage innovation in school career education programs. Schools selected for Project funding, called Lighthouse Schools, act as champions and demonstrators of good practice in quality career education. Over the three years 104 projects have involved 211 schools in implementing good practice in career education. Kate Castine, National Coordinator of the lighthouse Career Education Project provides an update on this innovative project.
